(from Summer 2002 Nativity Tidings)
Ros Hall and Nancy John Langdon will be offering summer fun for the teens
at Nativity. On June 9, July 7, July 21 and August 4, we plan an activity after church.
We'll go to lunch and a fun activity - suggestions have included a movie, ice skating,
roller skating, bowling, and others. We'll let you know in the bulletin what we're going
to do. Let us know if you plan to attend.

Three students attended the first Fall session of the confirmation classes, which run
through December 27. Some missed the starts because of sickness, but they will be joining
the group as soon as they are able. Father Jim says that more are welcome. The sessions
are every Monday night, beginning at 7:00 o'clock. The annual confirmation service will be
at Sarasota's Church of the Redeemer in May.

About Nativity's Youth Group
We first started getting together in September, doing the Youth Alpha program. We
traveled to Tampa to see the Billy Graham Crusade in October, participated in the Youth
Sunday in November, and headed to the movies to see The Prince of Egypt in
December.
We have taken a hiatus for the past few weeks, but are now preparing to get going again
in February. Watch for notices in the weekly bulletin & signs in the hallway for more
info...
If you have any questions, please see Anna Haeffner, or leave a note in the "Youth
Leader" box at the Church Office.

Vacation Bible School
Church of the Nativity wants to have a Vacation Bible School this summer. We would like
to hold it the week after school ends in June, 1999. To that end, we need to start
preparing now.
Anyone who thinks that they could contribute time to either the preparation or teaching
that week is welcome to become involved. There is a lot of work in preparing for Vacation
Bible School and since Nativity has never done this before, we would like to start now.
Please call Joanne Bednarsh at 358-1112 if you can help. The kids need us to be well
prepared if this project is to be successful.
