Deb Teahan
was appointed head of the Fellowship Commission replacing Duane Deuel who has
resigned. Ros Hall replaces Anna Haeffner on the Hospitality and Evangelism
Commission while Anna shifts to the Outreach Commission, replacing Nicki Coffaro
who has completed her three year term. Nancy John Langdon is assuming the Parish
Administration Commission, replacing Bob Halliday who finished his three year term
and Judi McCullough takes Charles Bohrers place on the Finance Commission
since Charles resigned. Joanne Marino retains Commissioner in charge of Christian
Formation and Lois Johnson keeps the Worship Commission.
Dick Wernick was unanimously elected Junior Warden following the
Annual Meeting in January replacing Bruce Simington who has served his three years.
The vestry
unanimously reelected Elly Freyer as clerk at the February meeting and nominated
several members to be lay Eucharistic Visitors, Lay Eucharistic Ministers and Lay Readers.
Those LEVs licensed through the end of the year are Gussie
Haeffner, Liz Stoner and Dick Wernick Those who need licensing are Nancy
John Langdon, Joanne Marino and Lois Johnson.
LEM'S who are already licensed are Duane Deuel, Bob Haeffner,
Lois Johnson, Ray Kimmens, Nancy John Langdon, Joe Schifano, Linda Seehawer, Deb Teahan and
Susan Walker. Those who need licensing are Joanne Marino, Anna Haeffner, Marcia
Simington, Bill Stoner and Deborah Young.
Lay Readers licensed through December 31, 2000 are Joanne
Marino, Millie Bennett, Charles Bohrer, Jabbo Gordon, Anna Haeffner, Bob Halliday, Carol
Harris, June Carol Hines, Lois Johnson, Steve Largo, Bob Mostertz, Sharon Murphy. and Doris
Stinebert. However, Charles and Carol have asked to be removed from the list.
Lay Readers who need licensing are Karla Porter, Bob Haeffner,
Sharon Simington, Bruce Simington, Ray Kimmens, Nancy John Langdon, Bill Stoner, Joe
Schifano, Linda Seehawer, Susan Walker and Deborah Young.
Russ
Housel will continue as Assistant Treasurer and as soon as the church obtains its new
software, we will appoint a new Treasurer. Joe Schifano and Joanne Marino
have volunteered to help out in the meantime.
Father Jim
mentioned that the church was in good, financial condition.
Nancy
John volunteered to head up the By Laws Committee taking up where Bob Halliday
left off. She will also complete the work Bob started on the inventory and determine a
safe site for the video he made.
"Video tapes are very fragile because of the heat and humidity in
Florida," Nancy John warned. "We also need a written copy of the
inventory.."
Joanne
reminded all vestry members of various responsibilities including the fact that they are
expected to pledge and that their pledges be up to date. Father Jim. added that as vestry
members, they should lead by example.
In other
business, the vestry:
Transferred $12,900, a surplus from last years operating budget,
to the Building Fund.
Paid $2,173 from the Operating Fund for Memorial Garden site work .
Heard progress on the Annual Spring Training Baseball Game Visit,
Shrove Tuesday Pancake Supper, Annual Golf Tournament, Winners Dinners, exterior lighting
and handicapped parking as well as the Building Fund Drive, which has been officially
named the "Hope and A Future Campaign."
Learned that Ash Wednesday services would be March 8 at 12 Noon and
7:00 PM and that the Lenten Soup Suppers would begin at 6:15 PM starting March 15.
Furthermore a Cursillo meeting will be held at Nativity on March 11.
