How Do Children See Your Faith?
"Here I am, send me," was the theme and message that rang throughout Vacation
Bible School this year. It was a week of learning, fellowship, fun, prayer, and above all,
drawing closer to our Lord.
In the closing comments Pastor Roy Brewton, of Northminster Presbyterian fame, pointed
out how the enthusiastic participation of the adults along with the children sent a
message to them of how important Gods Word is in all of our lives young and
old.
Deuteronomy 6:6-7 says "And these words which I command you today shall be in your
heart. You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you
sit in your house, when you walk by the way, when you lie down, and when you rise
up." The greatest, the healthiest example we can set for others, especially children,
is to be constantly active in learning about and serving the Lord who serves us so well.
As a parent, I want to personally thank all of the adults that took part and worked so
hard to provide such a wonderful program for VBS not only this year, but for the
past four years. I would also like to thank all of those who at present and in the past
have taken part in the ministries for children at Nativitymost of whom do not have
children participating in the programs or events.
If you are a parent who has a child who participates in any of the ministries for
children, please take the time to look around and thank those who make it possible. They
minister from wisdom, experience, and love for our Lord Jesus and His precious children.
And then, let us all daily be ready and willing to answer, "Here I am, send me."
In thankfulness,
Sharon Murphy
