(From February, 1999 Nativity newsletter)
"I invite you, therefore, in the name of the Church, to the observance of a holy Lent, by self examination and repentance; by prayer, fasting, and self-denial; and by reading and meditating on Gods holy Word."
Book of Common Prayer
ASH WEDNESDAY: Imposition of Ashes and Holy Eucharist will be celebrated at noon and 7 PM on Wednesday, February 17.
STATIONS OF THE CROSS will be followed each Friday at 5:30 PM beginning February 19.
STUDY SERIES: This year we will see the return of our traditional Lenten series. The study this year will encompass the various aspects of the "Armor of God" as they are discussed in the sixth chapter of Ephesians, verses 10 through 18. This study will take place in the context of a Daily Office from the Book of Common Prayer. Preceding the study and service each week, a simple soup-supper will be offered (providing enough chefs come forward to claim a week apiece). Ash Wednesday falls on February 17th this year and the Lenten series will begin the following week. The soup-supper will take place at 6:30 PM with the Lenten study starting at 7:00.
