Memorial Garden

(From Feb 2000 Nativity Tidings)

Dick Wernick has been looking for a memorial for our Memorial Garden. The plan is to have a 40-foot oval wall, around two-and-a-half feet high, around an area to hold the cremains of people who wish to have their ashes there.

There will be a sidewalk around the wall and on top of the wall will be a marble slab that will be raised to a 45-degree angle. Names of those whose ashes are there will be listed, similar to the plaque near the narthex. Dick also is hoping to have a fountain of water and a roadway back to the memorial garden, as well as a worship center there.

Dick is part of an unofficial committee that is working diligently on the memorial garden. Others include Bob Mostertz, Liz Stoner, and Jim Murphy (the elder). Anyone else who would like to participate in this special project should contact one of these four folks.
