Health Ministry:
A unique way to exercise your Christian ministry
On Sunday in our worship, we pray "for all those who, in this transitory life, are
in trouble, sorrow, need, sickness, or any other adversity." We have an opportunity
to exercise a ministry in our Parish that would put our faith into action, doing what the
church is called to do, to minister to the needy among us.
In cooperation with the National Episcopal Health Ministries, we are investigating the
establishment of a health ministry in our congregation. We know that our Lord wants us to
be whole, that He is concerned for the total wellness of each of us. With the support of
the rector, vestry, and a number of health care persons, I would like to gather a group of
people together who would help us to implement this program at Church of the Nativity.
We need able, enthusiastic, and caring people: doctors, nurses, health care
professionals, Stephen Ministry members, and sincere Christians who would assist us in
becoming an Episcopal Church that would be a vibrant place of health and wholeness.
If a program like this would be an opportunity that you could exercise, please contact
me at our home in Bradenton, 941-792-8893.
Please pray for us as we seek to reclaim the Gospel imperative of preaching, teaching,
and healing. As Christians, we can work together to keep people well, to empower them, to
educate them, to advocate for them, to teach them and to care for them.
May we be found faithful in our Servant Ministry.
