Exploratory Trip to Haiti
(from January 2002 Tidings)
An eight-day exploratory trip to Haiti is planned for January 2002 to visit
missionaries and mission sites for an overall view of the Episcopal Church's work in
Haiti. The Rev. P.J. Woodall of the Partnership Program of the Episcopal Diocese of Haiti
is coordinating the trip with Lois Johnson. Of particular interest is the work of the
Sisters of the Society of St. Margaret and a visit to the Cathedral in Port-au-Prince.
Most missionaries served by Agape Flights are evangelical Christians sent by every
denomination and mission group, plus a number of independent missionary couples. Some of
these will be visited also.
The trip will use a Cessna Caravan plane operated by Agape Flights. The dates chosen
are a regularly scheduled flight and can accommodate up to four persons. The round trip
cost is $400. The per day cost for room and board is $30. Car rental may be necessary to
get to and from mission sites. Translators are available. For additional information,
please contact Lois Johnson at 351-2003.
