The Episcopal Church Women met on January 9th for a delicious BBQ chicken luncheon. Afterwards, the 20 ladies listened to a very informative talk by the MCC Chaplain, Father Donald Nicholson. He explained the how's and why's of the Manatee Community College Chaplaincy program, and how it helps the students in many capacities, the most critical being abused women. We were surprised to learn that a great majority of the students are over 27 years of age, and most of the teaching staff has PhDs. We took a collection for the Chaplaincy Program, which gathered $100.00 for this very worthy and needed cause.
