Adopt-A-Family and Nursing Home Gifts
In 2003, Church of the Nativity adopted two families in Sarasota County,
one with 3 children aged 8 to 17 and another with 4 children aged 5 to 14 years. In
Manatee Conty we adopted one family with six children, ages 2 months to 12 years. We also
provided gifts for 30 seniors: 15 each at Springwood Rehabilitation and Nursing Center and
Life Care Center of Sarasota.
Through your generosity, 112 gifts were provided, including a bicycle,
Christmas tree, computer, crib, and other gently used furniture.
Many thanks to all who supported these activities, from buying gifts to
wrapping presents. These Adopt-A-Family and nursing home residents had a brighter, merrier
Christmas because of you!
United Thank Offering (UTO)
Liz Cramer, ECW Chairperson for the United Thank Offering, reported that
Nativity contributed $629.95 at our recent Ingathering.
Women's Conference
Nativity Church women and friends are invited to attend another Women of
Faith conference. Last October we enjoyed the funny video by Marilyn Meberg entitles
"Surviving Those Whale-Belly Experiences." Marilyn i one of six women who hold
Women of Faith conferences. On January 17, 2004, we will watch three more videos by these
Women of Faith from the series entitles "Sensational Life."
We will start with coffee and pastries at 9:30 am and then watch two
videos. Susan Bradshaw will provide a ladies' luncheon for us, and we know from past
experience it will be delicious. Following lunch there will be one more video.
Please note that the time of this conference is different from what was
published in the last issue of Tidings. Mark you calendar for January 17, 2004 from 9:30
am to 2:00 pm. A $5.00 donation per person will be graciously accepted. Watch for the
sign-up sheets.
