Episcopal Church Women (ECW)

(from October 1999 Nativity Tidings)

EPISCOPAL CHURCH WOMEN

It’s great to see more familiar faces each Sunday as our "Snow Angels" begin to return And to every new woman coming to Nativity, we invite you to come to all Episcopal Church Women events.

All women should have received a separate mailing of the 1999-2000 ECW calendar. We hope you will look forward to the scheduled activities and join us. Please feel free to ask a friend, family member or neighbor to any of our functions; the more the merrier. Also, if you haven't received a calendar or if you need a ride, don’t hesitate to call either Irene Wernick, 351-0827, or Nicki Coffaro 355-7165.

OCTOBER EVENTS

Tuesday, October 12, 6:30 PM

A Dessert and FALL FEST Finish-Up will be held at the church. We will be concluding any crafts and finalizing plans for the Building Fund Fund-raiser, FALL FEST which will be held on Saturday, October 23. We will need your help so please come.

Tuesday, October 19, 9:00 AM - 3:00 PM

A program, "ECW Experience," will be held at DaySpring for all ECW women. This event is always inspiring with a meaningful program and dynamic speakers. DaySpring provides a beautiful setting for this program. Sign up early. We will carpool from Nativity.

Saturday, October 23, 10:00 AM - 4:00 PM

We hope everyone has signed up for a "shift." Be sure to leave yourself time to shop and to have fun, also! Tell your neighbors, friends and family, too — and don’t forget to bring the children.

NOVEMBER EVENTS

Sunday, November 7, 8:30 AM & 10:30 AM

The UTO Ingathering will be held at both services.

Tuesday, November 9, 7:00 PM

"Sister to Sister" will present "The Innkeeper’s Wife of Bethlehem." If you have ever seen Dee Terjesen performing, you know what a terrific actress she is and how hilariously entertaining, yet meaningful, her Biblical characterizations are. If you haven’t seen her, you must save this evening. Invite a friend, too. This program will be too good to miss.

OPERATION CHRISTMAS CHILD SHOE BOXES will be collected around November 18. We have participated in this Samaritan’s Purse Worldwide Project before and we know how gratifying it is to know these shoe boxes will be delivered to children around the world and we sure have fun shopping! Please watch for more details.

Sunday, November 28, 8:30 AM & 10:30 AM

BAKELESS BAKE SALE. We women need a break after all the Thanksgiving cooking, so this bake sale is perfect. Please just donate to the "Decorated Cake" and help kick off our Adopt-A-Family project. We will be raising funds to help a needy Sarasota family at Christmas. So, save calories and donate generously.
