(From March, 1999 Nativity newsletter) Gerard Prohm, one of
our Cursillo representatives, went to the South Regional Ultreya at St. James in Port
Charlotte in January. He said there are two special weekends planned for DaySpring in
March. The first, referred to as Coed No. 4, will be March 18-21, but to Gerard's
knowledge, no one from Nativity will be involved in it. The second one is the following
weekend and is called the Women's 53rd. Nativity will have two new candidates there. Lois
Johnson is sponsoring Joanne Marino, and Susan Walker is sponsoring Ros Hall. Susan, who
made her Cursillo in May, 1997, is joining Gerard as one of our mission's representatives.
Her goal is to build support for Nativity's group.
"We have about 20 members (Cursillistas, or those who have made their Cursillo),
including those who have transferred in, like Lois," Susan said. "There are
monthly meetings, including covered dish dinners, throughout the diocese, but none at our
mission yet."
Bob and Gussie Haeffner are sponsoring Bruce and Marcia Simington for a couples'
session, which will be later in the spring.
All persons interested in learning more about the "Cursillo method" are
encouraged to contact either Susan or Gerard (or sending an email to the church.

Gerard Prohm, Nativity's Cursillo representative, said that the diocese-wide
Ultreya was held at our church on December 12. A blessed time was had by all. For 1999,
Susan Walker will join Gerard as our Cursillo representative. Questions? Give them
a call.
