Job said, "Oh that my words were written! Oh that
they were inscribed in a book!" (Job 19:23 RSV)
Obviously, Jobs words were written in a book; but imagine what it was like in
Jobs day to get books written (or chiseled?) Arent we fortunate to have books
so readily available to us, as many as we want? But, some places in our world dont
have any books at all. Thats where the Church Periodical Club comes in.
Yup! The time is here. Our annual Book Sale is scheduled for the end of January.
Its time to bring those books youve read and want to recycle to Nativity. We
welcome all sorts of books biographies, scientific, picture, fiction, religious,
and more as long as they are clean both physically and in content.
The funds we raise from this sale are worth more than words. Mission projects include
providing reading materials to juvenile facilities, hospitals, schools, seminarians,
prisons, retirement homes, and more. Sometimes the need is for audio-visual materials, or
maybe text books for mission church school programs, any group affiliated with the
Anglican Communion.
Please bring your used books to the Fellowship Hall beginning January 18 so well
have time to sort them for the sale which begins the following week and lasts until
February 2.
On that day, we will reveal the winner of the "Guess the Pennies" contest. If
you havent made your guess yet, youll find the jar of pennies near the coffee
table in the Fellowship hall each Sunday. You might be the lucky winner of a $25 gift
certificate to The Living Word Christian Store at Sarasota Crossings. One of our children
said she thought there were probably more than 100 pennies in the jar. What do you
think?
