Guess the Pennies

Last month I told you someone had given us two large jars of coins for our Mile of Pennies fund. Well, we’ve decided to let YOU guess how many pennies are in one of those jars. We’re having a contest and the winner will get $25 gift certificate to The Living Word Book Store on Fruitville Road.

You can get your guesses for 50 cents each, or three for a dollar. The jar will be located near the coffee table in the fellowship hall for your viewing. The contest will end on February 2, 2003, coinciding with the end of our upcoming book sale in the last week in January of 2003. And....

Are you putting aside the books you want to bring to the annual book sale? That sale begins on Church Periodical Club Ingathering Sunday, January 26 (in just two months!) The funds gathered last year contributed to a grant in Spain for training texts and Prayer Books used in ministry to Latin American immigrants to Madrid, as well as for improving a library in a seminary there.

So, hang on to those books and place your guess! You’ll never know where you might be helping to spread God’s Word in His vast world. For Jesus tells us in Matthew 24 that "Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will not pass away."
