(From September 2002 Nativity newsletter) I set my bow in the cloud, and it shall be a sign of the covenant between me and the earth. Genesis 9:13 RSV A Good Book Has No EndingRecently, I saw the above slogan on a sign. Our (former) esteemed editor has me so conditioned into watching for signs, that I immediately wrote it down, thinking that it might have possibilites. What do you think? Since 1922, the Episcopal Church National Books Fund (NBF) has been granting funds for books and audio-visual materials to individuals, churches, and organizations affiliated with our church. Ask around, perhaps someone in our parish might know of a recipient. Isnt it a good feeling to know the silver coins we put in the basket in the dining hall are helping with this ministry? Its great to think that there seems to be no end to to where these books might find a home, whether in the U.S.A. or a remote school in Africa. To add to our delight, many Bibles are distributed around the world ... and we all know that the Bible is "The Good Book that has no ending." Liz Stoner Other CPC articles: |
