Be exalted, O God, above the heavens.
Let your glory be overall the earth

 Psalm 57:11

Christians feel the same exuberance that David expressed because they know God, his presence his provision and his protection. We are moved to praise, to prayers that recognize his omnipotence and his proper place higher than all creation and we feel a need to share the knowledge of his glory everywhere in the world.

That is not an easy task for us as individuals! However, through CPC, the NBF for adults, and the MOP for children, we are bound together and we are enabled to spread the Word at home and abroad.

Here at Nativity, joining together in this effort, we amassed a total of $527.41 for the NBF during the months of January and February. This year, we opted to retain one-half of that as the by-laws allow us and encourage us to do in order to fill needs in the Sarasota-Bradenton area, to be a presence, an active source of Christian love in our own neighborhood through books, magazines, tapes, and videotapes.

When the Reverend Park Allis, Chaplain at MCC, spoke to us in February, he said that a subscription to "The Living Church," a periodical, would be useful in his work. We took the opportunity to bless him with such a gift using NBF funds we now have available.

In addition, Nativity's administrator, the Reverend Jan Brown, has ordered some large print Bibles to be used here at Nativity for Bible studies; some may be given to anyone in need who is not able to purchase a Bible. If you or someone you know is in that predicament, please see me.

Another way we will be furthering CPC's ministry of the printed word nearby consists of recycling current magazines. Beginning this month, you will notice a receptacle marked "CPC MAGAZINES" under a table in the narthex. As soon as you finish with your current magazines, place them in the container. A label with the information that the magazines have come from the Church will be affixed to them. Then, they will be given to the Life Care Center, a nursing home and rehabilitation center on Tuttle Road and similar places that would like to have them. Remove labels with your name and address or use a pen with permanent black ink to cover your name and address before dropping magazines off at church.

As we live the prayer taken from Psalm 57, working for and contributing to CPC, we touch lives in the name of Jesus, inflame hearts with a deep desire to take part in the exultation of our Lord and encourage visions of his glory over all the earth.
