(From September 2000 Nativity newsletter)
Now to him who is able to do
more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, to him
be the glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and
ever!
Eph 3:20,21
His power at work, within us: what a gift that is! At Nativity, we
see the movement of that power in the blessings we receive, the love we express, and in
the praise and thankfulness we utter. Evidence that we take seriously Paul's call to
glorify God throughout all generations is apparent in our prayers for and our giving to
the Church Periodical Club. A short prayer asking God's blessing for the work of CPC, a
penny in the MOP basket, a book given to or purchased from the "Bring a Book - Buy a
Book" sale, participation in CPC Sunday, requests for MOP or NBF grants- any and all
of these make one a certified member of CPC. Through your membership, our parish, our
diocese, our community, our countrymen and people worldwide honor or may be led to honor
the Lord; we honor him by making it possible for those in need to become literate or for
the literate to expand their knowledge. Through MOP, Christian literature, books, and
tapes are provided to schools, libraries and organizations that serve children up to the
age of eighteen. Through NBF grants, seminaries, seminarians, college students, hospitals,
prisons and companion dioceses are helped to receive Bibles, hymnals, textbooks, magazines
and other worthwhile literature. And through membership in CPC, through him who is able to
do more than we ask or imagine, may we continue to glorify him spreading the good news of
his love throughout all generations.
