The unfolding of your words gives light; it gives understanding.
(Ps 119:130)

How many ways are open to us for the unfolding of God's words? For the light of Christ to come into our lives and give us understanding?

We have Sunday readings from the Epistles, Old Testament and the Gospel coupled with the witnessing, explanation and exhortation of the homilies.

We have individual and group Bible studies. We have commentaries, tapes, videos, retreats and seminars.

We have prayers, hymns, meditation, service and fellowship.

Yet many people in the United States and abroad are deprived of these advantages and opportunities. To fill that void, CPC's National Books Fund and Miles of Pennies Fund supplies reading, listening and viewing materials through grants.

We are reminded that these awards encourage and enlighten and are gratefully used when we read some of the thank you notes that continually arrive at CPC headquarters. Quoted in CPC's quarterly publication, excerpts are clipped and posted in the hallway at church for your perusal.

Presently, the 1998 Miles of Pennies grant list is there. Check it out. See the many people and places experiencing the unfolding of God's word as we continue to support CPC and to drop pennies in the jar in the narthex.
