What an exciting time to be attending Church of the
Nativity! Other articles will give more detail about the wonderful events to be happening
in February. Here are the music highlights for these events:
Faith Alive
This dynamic program will also be bringing to Nativity a full complement of musicians.
Mark Moseley from Sumter, North Caroline, is the band's director. He promises we will be
treated to a joyful worship experience. Please know that we will be using the hymnal for
some of the songs as well as singing a few newer one!
Flower Festival
This year, as a complement to the wonderful floral displays, we have engaged The
Prevailing Winds, a woodwind trio, to play in the church from noon until 2:00 pm on
Saturday, February 21. In addition, our own Marjorie Schubel has agreed to participate in
themusic program playing our three-manual Allen organ. Marjorie was organist/choir
director at All Angels by the Sea for 13 years; she and her husband, Richard, reside in
Sarasota and are now members of Nativity. To round off the day, we will have a couple of
vocal selections by members of the Nativity Choir. Reserve this date!
UM Choir
Friday March 12, 2004 at 7:30 pm, the University of Miami Advanced Women's Chorale and
the Men's Chorale will be here to present a concert.
Volunteer Wanted
The music department is looking for a music librarian to help with the choir music.
This would involved distributing music to choir folders, logging it back in and filing it
in the music library, as well as cataloging new music. If you are interested, please see
Karla. Thanks!
